Meet Shayla, Your Centre Supervisor
Hi my name is Shayla, I am the Nominated Supervisor of Little Peoples Gwynneville.
I began working for Little Peoples in 2016 when I was just 17 years old. I am now many years into my Little Peoples journey and have studied my Diploma and Bachelor of Early Childhood. I spent 5 great years at the Horsley service from a trainee to a room leader. Late 2021 I was promoted to Supervisor at the Berkeley service where I was for just over a year before being promoted a second time to the Gwynneville. During this journey I have spent time working with all age groups, creating relationships with children and families and leading teams, this has always made it hard to say goodbye. This continuous experience has shaped who I am today as an educator, expanded on my knowledge and my passion for early childhood education and all that is involved.
As an Early Childhood Teacher, I believe children’s relationships are the foundation to children’s learning. When children feel safe, welcome, supported and secure in their learning environment with their educators and peers, this promotes their confidence to play, explore, discover and learn. The first 5 years of a child’s life are the most important for learning and brain development, therefore I believe collaboration with parents/care givers as the child’s first teacher along with play-based learning that supports all developmental areas, children are on their way to their own success. Supporting children’s play-based learning through following their interests, developmental milestones and community celebrations/events are my favourite ways to develop a rich, meaningful curriculum for the children.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us to book a tour with one of our friendly educators to see if our service is the right fit for you and your child.
Yours Sincerely
Shayla
